3D Printed Protective Cover for a Metal Detector

Sometimes the smallest part can make the biggest difference. In this project, we created a custom protective cover for a metal detector after the original component was no longer available. Instead of trying to find a rare spare part, we simply designed and printed a new one.

We started by measuring the device and building a 3D model that would fit perfectly. After a few adjustments, the cover was ready for printing and came out exactly as planned, providing a snug fit and a clean, durable finish.

This is one of the reasons we enjoy working with 3D printing so much. It gives us the freedom to recreate discontinued parts, improve existing designs, or make something completely new without the limitations of traditional manufacturing.

Projects like this are often about solving practical problems. A broken cover or missing accessory doesn’t have to mean replacing the entire device. In many cases, a custom-made 3D printed part is all that’s needed to get everything working again.
