Calculate the cost of 3D printing online

How to calculate the cost of 3D printing

  • download the 3D model in STL format;
  • wait for the cost of 3D printing to be calculated and printing recommendations to be shown;
  • change the 3D printing settings if necessary or leave the default settings;
  • to order 3D printing on our 3D printers, select “Order printing”, fill out the contact information and submit the request for processing.
For example, a test 3D model is used.
Upload your 3D model to calculate the cost and parameters of 3D printing. The calculation is done automatically.

Download a file in STL format?Click the “Download” button and select the 3D model file. This is a file in STL format, for example 3dmodel.stl. The calculator will automatically calculate the cost immediately. You can go directly to the calculation below or change the 3D printing settings

Change 3D printing settings?
Open and set your 3D printing settings if you are not satisfied with the default settings (marked with *). The default settings are optimal in terms of price-quality ratio.

Select material:?
The material that will be used to 3D print the part. To put it simply, ABS or PET-G is suitable for gears, housings and similar technical parts; for figurines and souvenirs, baking molds – PLA; for jewelry making and precise and high-quality printing – photopolymer resin

Select fill density:?
Characterizes the filling of a part with material. Often it is not necessary to completely fill a part; to save plastic, you can use partial filling, for example, from 10%.

Select layer thickness (height):?
Characterizes quality. The smaller the layer thickness, the more imperceptible the layering will be and the higher quality the printing will be, but the longer the 3D printing time and its cost.

How does online 3D printing cost calculation work?

A test model has already been loaded into the 3D calculator to show how calculating the cost of 3D printing works.

How to calculate the cost for your 3D model?

1) Upload your 3D model

Click the “Load 3D model” button and select the 3D model on your computer
As soon as the 3D calculator calculates the cost and other data, it will immediately display them on the screen.
In this case, the cost calculation will be calculated taking into account the optimal selection of printing characteristics in terms of price-quality ratio: material and part filling).
Our printing recommendations based on our experience will also be provided.

2) Select 3D printing settings

If you are not satisfied with the default printing settings, then you can choose these settings yourself by clicking on “Change 3D printing settings”.
Choose a material for 3D printing. Since printing with each material has its own characteristics and the material has its own unique physical and chemical properties, we recommend that you read the selection guide materialsfor 3D printing.
Select the fill density. In most cases, you can reduce the cost and time of 3D printing by printing a partially hollow part. To increase strength, “honeycombs” of a certain structure are made inside the part. You can read more in FAQ.
Select the thickness (height) of the layer. The quality of the print depends on this 3D printing parameter, more details in FAQ. If the part is large enough, has a simple geometry and will be processed after printing, we recommend printing with the largest possible layer thickness.

After selecting the printing parameters, the cost, time and amount of material for 3D printing will be automatically calculated.
You can also see recommendations for printing and geometric data of the 3D model: dimensions, volume, area.

3) Order a print

Enter your order information and order 3D printing. The 3D modeler will check the correctness of the choice and the absence of errors in the 3D model and send an invoice for payment.
