In this project, we designed and manufactured a 3D printed jar opener created to make screw-top jars easier to open.
The goal was to develop a simple and practical tool that helps hold the jar securely while reducing the effort needed to turn the lid.
Custom functional design
The system consists of two main parts. The first part acts as a holder for the jar, helping to keep it in place and prevent it from rotating during use.
The second part works as a lever for the lid. It fits over the jar lid and provides extra leverage, making it easier to open with less force.
This type of project shows one of the main advantages of 3D printing: the possibility to create a practical solution for a very specific need.
3D modeling of the jar opener
Before printing, we created the 3D models of all parts. During the design process, we considered the jar dimensions, lid size, support points and ease of use.
We also paid attention to the areas that receive the most load in order to create a stronger and more reliable functional part.
3D printing of a functional prototype
Once the digital model was ready, we produced the functional prototype using 3D printing.
3D printing makes it possible to quickly check the dimensions, fit and overall function of the design. If necessary, the model can be modified and printed again until the required result is achieved.
A practical custom 3D printed tool
This project is a good example of how 3D printing functional parts can be used to solve simple everyday problems.
Not every project needs to be a complex industrial component. Sometimes a small custom tool designed for one specific task can make daily use much easier.
